Best display for a Mac mini

Hello,

So now with the Thunderbolt display not being sold anymore, and both the LG Ultrafine models not supporting the Mac mini and it's lack of USB-C and thunderbolt 3, what is my best monitor option? Do I just need to find a regular 4k monitor that has a displayport or HDMI port on it?

I can't even seem to buy the thunderbolt display refurbished from Apple, or what I would call a reputable online hardware vendor.

EDIT: I guess another important question is: Apple's site claims the Mac mini will do 4k at 24Hz. Has anyone actually used a mac mini to do 4k in real world conditions?

Data point: I run my 2014 Mac Mini (Iris graphics) with an ultrawide curved monitor, at its native resolution of 3440x1440, at 50Hz.

Unless you're really into high-end graphics for your job or similar, forget Mac displays. They are hugely expensive, and for a couple of hundred pounds you can get a perfectly good 24" Dell. Use the money you save getting your Mini uprated to SSD - fast? You won't believe it!
