Hit your software update on your Mac...

In addition to the MP3 export, there are unspecified stability and other enhancements, and some new drummers/drum kits in the one-time in app purchase one can get if they want the additional stuff that comes with it...

After a bit of info relating to this if any one here is an 'expert' ....... I'm using GB (10.0.2) for the first time to edit our first podcast (which was originally an mp3 file). I've gone through the file and edited and deleted out the gaps and bits I don't want in there and saved as a AIFF file (which has gone from 7mb to nearly 100mb).

If I now try to export as an mp3, I have no compression option, so the file is still nearly 100mb and the tool reinserts all the stuff that was previously edited out.

I've tried the Join Regions option, but this just creates a new track which, again, is a copy of the very original file.

Any advice on how I get this edited version (which is in various regions) all joined up and output as a standard (compressed) mp3 file?

    Thanks in advance!!

GarageBand only supports exporting three audio formats: AIFF, MP3 and AAC. Worse still, with the 2013 release of GarageBand version 10.0.0, they have removed the feature of directly exporting songs to MP3. Although this feature is re-added in version 10.0.2 and the later, you have to first edit the file name before you click on the "Export" button.
