I traded for an iPhone 5 off craigslist and he had already updated to 7.0.6 over the air. Am I just screwed? eVasion crashes trying to modfy rootfs every time. I tried a full restore but it wants to upgrade the phone to 7.1. Any help? Or yell at me because I missed it in the search.

Apple is no longer signing 7.0.6, so you cannot restore to it with iTunes.

I guess I should just go ahead and update to 7.1 or is there some kind of hope this problem will get figured out on 7.0.6?

OTA updates have been causing issues since iOS 5. I think your screwed
So in that case, 7.1 is where it's at!
Maybe there's hope I remember reading that Winocom (?) achieved pretty low level access and was able to get as close to a hardware exploit as possible and maybe there will be a tethered JB for 7.1

Just one reason why you should do iOS updates via iTunes and not OTA.....

I have 7.0.6 OTA. Just tried resetting my settings then jailbreak. No luck. Same thing, evasi0n7 just closes before finishing.

Update to iOS 7.1.1 and enjoy the better battery life and snappier OS.

They said that it was updated to iOS 7.0.6 via OTA. Not 7.0.4.
