Hi, sorry if there are other posts about this but I am wondering if I jailbreak my phone and I have hardware issues that are usually covered by the warranty, i.e. the speaker won't work, would apple not replace my phone for free if I have apple care since it is jailbroken?

Just restore the phone to stock before you take it in.

Then you risk losing your warranty.

That would be a dumb move. No one would do that.

I never buy Apple Care. Well I did once but had no use for it.

Depends on what Apple store you go to. Some Apple techs look the other way. Others don't.

I went to an Apple Store and the guy at the Genius Bar had a jailbroken iPhone. I could tell becuase I saw Cydia on his home screen.

Pretty much all of them jailbreak their phones. An apple store worker told me that once. Makes sense, anyone who is on the more tech savvy side probably will want to explore more functionality, and they have like no risk of destroying their phones since they work there. I am personally tired of waiting for apple to implement what I deem as some basic needed updates.

Yeah. They are going to ask whether you tried restoring the device anyway. I'd rather not let them go through my bank info.

Don't expect any help from Apple.

That's still his phone, not a phone he's working on.

Yeah I know that but it was a response to his post about how some techs look the other way.
