I jailbroke my iPhone 5 earlier today and all seems to be working just fine but my battery is getting crushed...I am new to jail breaking and was wondering if I can restore a stock 7.0.4 backup and remove jailbreak? If not can I just do a restore in iTunes to remove jailbreak? Any help or insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What tweaks were installed after jailbreaking? Delete one at a time and try to ascertain which app is causing the battery drain.

Does restoring from a jailbreaked backup cause any issues if we don't re-jailbreak afterwards.

That depends on your definition of "issues." Jailbreak apps maintain data just like normal apps do. Just like those apps, the data gets included into a backup. When you restore the backup, you'll restore this data to your phone, but the app won't exist to access it. Some view it as an issue to have wasted space on their phone. Others don't.
