I think it only appears if you go past your last screen of apps. If there are no options to turn it off completely (and I don't think there are), you'd need to uninstall it if you don't want it to appear. Otherwise, just swiping to another screen will pause the game.

Have u tried disabling it in MobileSubstrate?
