Saw this on another forum and I tried it and it worked great!
This is just for those updates under AppStore..

I have DirecTv as well as Pandora that I dont want to update because I'd lose some functionality (would lose Pandora Downloader and the updated DirecTv app does not work for JB'd phones)...

"You can follow this method to "break" the metadata and stop updates:
    Open the app in iFile
Open its iTunesMetadata.plist with text viewer or property list viewer (it's always a good idea to make a backup copy of any file you are about to edit)
Find "itemId". You'll see a number like 585027354 (it'll have commas in plist viewer). Delete everything except for the first number, so 585027354 becomes 5.
Open App Store and watch it disappear from updates!
It's not elegant, but you'll never be bothered about updates again! If something goes wrong, just put the old plist back."

Is there something similar to Update Hider on iOS6? : jailbreak

No worries.. since the original developer of Update hider seems to be in hiding himself.. i was stoked to find this workaround so now I dont have to worry about accidentally updating either DirectTv or my Pandora apps...
