Hi
I have a problem on my Ubuntu laptop with using Redsn0w on it.

The only way I could get Redsnow itself working is by using Wine the Windows program loader as there is no Redsn0w for Linux.
The problem with it is, once I connect my iPhone to my laptop, Ubuntu recognises it and mounts the music and pictures but my iPhone doesn't show up as connected on Redsn0w despite it working fine on my Windows desktop with the same USB lead.
I need Redsn0w to reboot my iPhone 3GS after it boots semi-tethered (I don't like going for long without Safari, Mail and my tweaks.)
Devices info:
Laptop:
-OS: Ubuntu Linux version 13.04 (Raring Ringtail)
iPhone:
-Model: 3GS
-iOS Version: 6.1.3
-Jailbreak: Redsn0w 6.1.3 Semi-Tethered
My usual PC is Windows XP which I do most of my boots on but I only have my Ubuntu laptop when I am away from my Windows PC.
Plus, I need Redsn0w in case my semi-tether fails on me (like when I installed Ac!d Siri from Cydia it broke my semi-tether patch)

Is there a direct fix for this or a workaround for it?
Or am I screwed until I can get back to my Windows PC?
Thanks

I don't have the answer for you, other than to suggest using the windows PC for these tasks. HOWEVER it would be nice if we can get you an answer. Anyone know Linux and can provide a solution here?
