I'm new and got my iphone5 a day before 6.1.3 was pushed and I updated not knowing there wasn't a jailbreak available .

my Question is what's the average wait for a new Jailbreak version?

I really want to experience what JBing has to offer :p

If you were looking to jailbreak, why did you update before checking for a jailbreak tool? /confused

Blink is right. The newer iOS versions take a bit more to jailbreak. The bootrom's aren't hacked like they were in the older models. The old jailbreaks were much quicker as they had the bootrom access. The newer require a group of exploits working together to achieve the same result. As 6.1.3 fixed some of the exploits used in the 6.0-6.1.2 jailbreaks, it's unlikely the devs will push through another jailbreak prior to iOS7.

Typically, you want to avoid updating until you're sure there's a tool out for jailbreaking.
