I wouldn't jailbreak an iPhone cause it will void your iPhone.

You mean it voids the warranty?? not really, you can always restore the phone as new after jailbraking, some people even got their jailbroken iphones swapped for hardware issues..

I wouldn't jailbreak until 6.1 is released and make sure it's stable, that's pretty much a few months from now

When is the 6.1 coming to iTunes?

6.1 is out for developers only, it could take a month or two before it's released for everybody, after that it depends on how long the dev team takes to release a jailbreak for 6.1, could be weeks or months later.

Here's what I'm doing:

Staying put on iOS 6 until Apple releases iOS 6.1 officially. At that point there will be a small window (7-10 days max) where you'll be able to either stay on iOS 6, or update to 6.0.1 and 6.1. At that point we need to find out which one of those three firmwares is the most jailbreak-friendly.

Don't be so sure about that window?Apple stopped signing 6.0 in record time when 6.0.1 came out.
