    I am having my newly aquired iphone iphone unlocked by at&t. I thought about jailbreaking it and was wondering if that when i had to update if i would loose both my unlock and my jailbreak?

    If it is unlocked by AT&T, then it's a permanent unlock

    Like the others guys said when you upgrade it will still be factory unlocked but yes you will lose the Jailbreak.
