Repairing Iphone volume button. Hard or Easy?

Hey,

I'm buying an iphone 3g tomorrow, but I'm getting it cheap as the volume button is missing. I've ordered a replacement volume button and it should be in the post anytime now.

I know how to remove the screen etc. but is replacing a volume button as simple as just clicking it onto a motherboard? Or is it slightly more complicated?

I've tried searching on youtube for tutorials but couldn't find much.

Any help is appreciated.

Is it just the volume switch like the little button or the actual volume cable because the volume cable is attached to a ribbon cable that is also for the vibrate switch and power button so you may need to replace the whole cable ..

It is possible I have replaced a whole back cover before and the ribbon cable is kind of tedious but it can be done ..

Just don't rush your self and don't use too much force when removing things ..

If I remember correctly you will have to remove the board to get too the cable also

Cable and button is not much at all I get parts from amazon normally with zeetron as the seller

Do you know how much they cost?

I don't but personally I'm not the sort to tear my iPhone apart.
