I jailbroke my Ipod and decided to install winterboard in doing so it reseted all the things i had previously installed and i had to restore my Ipod and jailbreak it again. Can someone explain why this happened im running 5.1

I don't use winterboard because it just changes so much that I would worry about it trashing something, like the OS. Maybe you had some other stuff installed that came in conflict when you added winterboard? Just a guess...

You'd probably be better served by asking in the jailbreak forums?

I assume you know how to do a tethered reboot, since you're on 5.1? If Winterboard (or anything else) requires you to reboot, you need to boot tethered, otherwise you'll get stuck at the Apple logo. What exactly happened when you say it "reseted all the things?"

I assume you're referring to jailbreak apps?

Massie is correct. And by the sound of things, you also had semi-tether installed, which allows basic functionality of the device in case you don't boot tethered.
