help on ssh

just jailbreaked but i need help. im trying to ssh and i installed winscp on my comp and i have toggle ssh on my iphone. i put in my ip address and root and alpine but it still wont connect. help?

Do you have wifi enabled?

Did you actually install OpenSSH or are you just trying to use the toggle? Because turning the toggle on won't do anything without the app being installed.

You could also use a program that uses a USB connection, like iphonebrowser. You only need OpenSSH to do it over wifi.

I finally got it. I have winscp on my computer and toggle ssh on my phone. Turns out i needed to reboot my phone for it to work!

Edit:

I can't get the keyboard i installed to work. I turned it on from winterboard and respringed and it still isn't visible

Its the macbook air keyboard. I think its by iacess. It said for ios3 but i have ios5 so its not compatible?

I don't believe it is. The best keyboard themes for ios 5 are through ColorKeyboard; I'd check that out.
