    When I jailbreak, I find that after re-installing my apps, they "remember" the previous settings and still contain the original content/data.

    I had some photos in a locked folder app named "photo privacy"...the icon looked the same as the standard sunflower photo icon, except it had a little butterfly on it.

    Now, this app is no longer available...so the locked photos are "hidden" somewhere inside the phone.

    They show up on the phone summary as "other" when plugged into iTunes.

    Is it possible to get into the phone, and retrieve these photos?

    Install OpenSSH and browse over to the documents folder on your phone. You should be able to extract them there, assuming the program didn't encrypt them.

    IF they're encrypted, hope is pretty much lost - if not, you should be able to just find the app's folder in your lib/user/documents (someone correct me on the exact path..) and then copy the JPGs..
