No untethered A5 jailbreak (explanation from Dev-Team blog)

I just read a section on the Dev-Team blog regarding why there is no untethered A5 jailbreak yet. I read this explanation as its going to be a while for the untethered A5 jailbreak release. Ugh. I only really miss 4 Cydia apps(bitesms, mywi, pdanet and my3g).


"@pod2g is now looking for a way to extend this to A5 devices. Because those devices cannot use geohot’s limera1n exploit to inject the untether, they require exploits above and beyond those used for this release. Keep following pod2g on twitter or his blog for any progress reports!"

I am glad I am WRONG about this.

Looks like, if we are lucky, the A5 untethered jailbreak is next week!

Most likely because the exploit that's being used only works in 5.0.1.

pod2g is shooting to release the JB next week. I think it's safe to wait for 5.1 if you REALLY want to, but that's still a gamble.

If you want to jailbreak your 4s you need to update to 5.0.1
UNLESS

you are an unlocker... Then stick to 5.0 and wait your turn!

I think I'm officially just going to look for a used 4 now. The 4S doesn't offer that much of an improvement over it I'm my opinion plus it has a jailbreak

My girlfiend has my old iPhone 4. And i have fixed everything its jb on 5.01 unlocked and perfectly optimized. Im stuck with the iPhone 4s crap, maby i take my old phone back

Sandboxing issues afaik are the issue currently.
