question about tethered JB

i skipped the OS5 update so i could stay untethered jailbroken,but got tired of missing the new goodies in 5.0 and finally upgraded,but it went to 5.0.1.so my question is,since i don't have a 5.0 ipsw,can i use one from my friends phone that still has 5.0 on it? we are both on the same carrier and both have an iphone4.i would like to attempt to do a tethered jailbreak since i like all the tweeks i had with cydia.TIA for the help.

thanks for the link,but i got the same result as with the several other sites i have found to download the 5.0 ipsw.after i finish unzipping the file,there is nothing with an ipsw extension and an icon that the ipsw usually has with the music note and ipod icons on it.also i cannot find anything that says apple software like my current ipsw does.i should note that i am doing this all on a windows7 pc if that makes a difference.

Don't unzip it, just change the .zip extension to .ipsw and you're good to go. Some browsers read it as a zip file for some reason.
