Cannot restore ip4 after jailbreak

Help, I applied the jailbreak via redsn0w about a week and a half ago to my sisters ip4. It has been glitchy for her and keeps going into safe mode. I told her that she can restore it back to normal but whenever she tries it tells her it can't. Is there something that were doing wrong or a certain way to restore it?
