I am attempting to jailbreak my Verizon iPhone 4 (4.2.1) Everything seems to go fine and it seems to take a bit longer than any videos I seen, It keeps getting to the point were the greenpois0n emblem is spinning then stops after this I get the "restore me know" emblem and I have to plug it in and out 4-5 times to actually get it to start restoring. I stopped trying to JB it just in case it bricked
The Verizon phone never had 4.2.1 so you must mean 4.2.6? So tell us which is correct? either it's not a Verizon phone or you told us the wrong firmware?

It's a Verizon and only has 4.2.1 I can not update it any further, I bought it at Best Buy last week if that would have anything to do with it
Don't know if this matters (it's been a while since I've used GP) but most guides for that firmware recommend using GP RC5b4. See if this guide helps:

Sounds like you mean 4.2.10, not 4.2.1. Different things. I don't think there's a reliable jb yet for 4.2.10, just a kind of buggy, tethered Redsn0w jailbreak.
I agree I think he is saying 4.2.10 and as far as I know there is no unteathered JB and prob won't be and most of what I heard is using redsnow tethered
