Stuck....help?

I can't figure out the IPSW....I dl'd the 4.2.8 file but it doesn't contain that file. Am I in the wrong place ? Help please.....

I also redownloaded the IPSW directly from the link in snowbreez still no luck....

I have been at this all day seems every place I dl the 4.2.8 it's corrupt or maybe I'm doing something wrong. I can't get past the part where I have to select the IPSW file in snowbreez.

Do you update your iPhone through iTunes? If so, it is already downloaded on your computer. Just use that file.

Fantastic do you the directory it's in cause I have looked in iTunes folder with no luck.

If the 4.2.8 file you dl'ed ends with .zip, just change that to .ipsw instead. (Don't try to unzip it.) For some reason ipsw files get renamed by some systems.

You just may be my hero! Trying to red/l I named it .IPSW not sure if this will work kind of new to the windows 7. Keeping fingers crossed!
