    Hello all,

First off, I just wanted to say I cannot find any thread in this forum that fits my question, which is why I'm posting this.

I currently received a new iphone 4 (last one had faulty battery) and the iOS version that the phone came with is 4.2.5. Now, is there any way to upgrade it to 4.2.6 and not to 4.2.8? I'm using a macbook pro and not a pc, and i've tried the whole "hold left **** and click restore, then choose your ipsw" route and that simply did not work and im guessing it's because i'm on a mac. Thanks so so much for the help and advice guys!

    Best Regards,

I have always understood that the only way to install an older version of iOS is if you have your shsh blobs saved, because apple stops signing them. Why not just upgrade to 4.2.8 and jailbreak? I just wrote up a walkthrough of instructions i followed for 4.2.8 on a Mac if you feel daring. You could just upgrade to a custom 4.2.8 ipsw from your current version using Pwnage tool. Good luck.
