Hi everyone - This is my first post here.

I just got a replacement iPhone 4 from my nearby Apple store. When I plugged it into my PC and iTunes offered to set it up, I told it to restore from a backup I made yesterday.

When I made that backup on my original phone yesterday, the phone has iOS 4.3.2. This new phone has 4.3.1, yet iTunes happily restored the backup and is now in the process of syncing all 280 apps to the new phone.

But is it really okay to restore to an earlier iOS version?

Would I be better off restoring the phone as new and THEN restoring from yesterday's backup?

    Thanks for any wisdom!! Scott

It's fine to restore from an older version. Sometimes it won't let you. I recall having to update a replacement iphone to 4.1 from 4.0.2 when it wouldn't even show the previous backup which was from 4.1. But if it does, it should be fine.
