TinyUmbrella is not a JB tool it just backs up your SHSH blobs. If you don't know what the blobs are do a search on here for SHSH or blobs.

The spam comes when the thread is popular it's as inevitable as viagra ads in your email lol so just report it with the caution button at the top right I beleive.

I see. Hey have you heard of any jail breakers saying that they are working on jail breaking iOS 4.2.7? I wanted to contact Comex, Greenp0ison, Musclenerd, or others, but I don't have any of their contact info.

Sorry I caught this late but you probably already see the thread that 4.3.2 is JBen it is a tethered JB though so keep that in mind. If you want to find those guys search for the Dev-Team blog site and their contact info is listed on the right side.

Thanks, I tried to contact about 6 of them through twitter, but none of them have replied lol. Maybe someone else will have more success.

Thank you maqsur!

I downloaded the 4.2.6 firmware (.ipsw file). I fired up itunes, connect iphone. Then I hold down alt button and click on "restore", which opens up a dialogue box where I can point to the downloaded firmware. Then it starts the process like normal.

Don't extract or modify the .ipsw file. BTW, I am using a mac; on windows, i think you click shift and restore instead.

your way to restore 4.2.6 is super easy! Saved my from melting down trying to get 4.2.7 jailbroken

I guess I'm going to be joining the waiting room too! I JB my iPhone a week or so after I bought it and then restored it (I got nervous for some reason). Now that I've had the phone for a couple of months and I've researched more about all that JB can do, I want to do it again!

Hurry Greenpois0n!!

Read my post just above you need your SHSH blobs in order to downgrade firmware. Unless this ipsw/firmware was made with Pwnage Tool or Sn0wbreeze it will not reload onto your phone without your SHSH blobs. This is also going to wipe your phone so be sure you backup and sync before starting the procedure.

Is there any possible way to downgrade from 4.2.7 to 4.2.6 on a brand new iPhone preloaded with 4.2.7? I'm about to pick up the white iPhone with Verizon and I'm pretty sure it's going to come with 4.2.7

upgrade goof

I accidentally upgraded to 4.2.7 and now I am screwed with out a jailbreak. I hope the untethered version comes out soon so I can get my jailbroken iphone back! I'm willing to wait another week or so before I tinker with the tethered version.

Supposedly ih8sn0w got his Verizon iPhone last week and is working on a 4.2.7 Jb. Hoping for this weekend release or something...unil then, I would suggest tethered JB via redsn0w for now, it works just fine as long as you're careful not to install any cydia apps while you're away from the computer. Never know which ones need a reboot :)

I just have to ask, please tell me how someone accidentally upgrades the firmware? I'm asking seriously not as some snide remark, it's just since I've had my iPhone since the first generation I have never upgraded the firmware without knowing that is what was happening.

Probably just like somebody accidently doesn't read the Terms and Conditions.

I have tried to use this jailbreak three different times. I have redownloaded the file snowbreeze recommends but when i try to run the program it doesn't shows that it doesn't have the correct file. Is there something that i'm missing or any special way you have to download the software. I really miss my jailbroken phone. Please help.

Although I'm tempted..I'm just going to stay with 4.2.6..

Besides nothing major in the 4.2.7 release..Don't think it's worth the effort since I read Apple is suppose to release another OS soon to fix that "location" bug..

I too had the problem. Grab the 4.2,7. file from the download link within the program. You will br redirected to a site within the program to get different versions. It recognized after I downloaded their file
