Please help!! I jailbroke my iphone 4 last night and began reinstalling all of my cydia apps and themes, this morning i was installing my old Unique theme via cydia when i went back to check my phone i got a message saying something to the effect of warning trying to use phone while cydia is installing software can be dangerous, i did a hard reset and now my phone is stuck, the apple symbol pops up and it then turns to the greenpoison icon and thats it. nothing happens at that point its just stuck.

Try to do a factory restore to new phone and then re-jailbreak.

I would however i can't get itunes to recognize that my iphone is connected via USB, the phone eventually timed out and rebooted just like i said above. it just locks up on the greenpoison icon.

It is very close to impossible to brick your phone. If you are on a Mac use this link: http://cache.firmwareumbrella.com/do...a-v4.21.07.pkg

    PC: http://cache.firmwareumbrella.com/do...la-4.21.07.exe

This is why novices should not be jailbreaking their iPhones

You know, you gotta start somewhere. But research is always a must before just jumping in.

OP how is your phone? Why would you hard boot the phone? why not just unlock it. I got the same message this morning, it's because unlike previously now if you start installing something in Cydia and gget out Cydia is still alive and installing the software. So when you hard booted the phone you may have messed up some file that was being installed, copied, etc. If you can't get it to start and you're on a Mac I would advise using pwnage tool to create a custom firmware and put your phone into DFU mode. This will wipe you phone clean though, just a warning but you will be able to restore from any backups you have. If you don't have a Mac shoot me a PM.
