Video zooming

Hi,
Is there a way to enable zooming on the video recording in the original camera app on an iPhone 4? Also, I know it sounds useless but would it be possible to enable zoom on the front facing camera of the phone? I know other phones have these abilities and there are apps on the appstore but i would like it implemented in the original 'camera' app. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Perhaps through changing a plist setting?

my best advice would be to just download the apps that our out there that allow such.
