Reverse Jailbreak question(s)

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and jailbreaking.

I have a jailbroken IPHONE 4 and love it!

But I have two questions.

1) If I reverse the jailbreak would I keep apps I downloaded illegally through Installous? Those apps are legit apps that can be downloaded normally through app store...so would they be detected as hacked apps? Or the legit thing? I understand that apps that are jailbreak dependent won't work.

2) If I update the firmware of the Iphone I know it will no longer be jailbroken. Will updating the firmware without restoring factory defaults damage my phone? Can I still use properly, and will it remove cydia?

2a) no, it shouldnt damage your phone.

2b) it will remove cydia but depending on what you installed while jailbroken you might have traces of it unless you restore to factory settings. I know people have reported "make it mine" is one such program.
