Recently jailbroke, now I have no spave left on my device

I recently jailbroke my 3gS 8gb iPhone. After the jailbreak, I only have around 500kb of space left on my device. Is this normal? and is there anything I can do to free up some space. I only have 2 apps besides the stock apps that come w/it. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried resetting since the jailbreak?
