Let me first say that my originally iPhone came with 3.1.3 and 05.12.01 firmware on it... i accidently upgraded to iOS4.0 and my model firmware became 05.13.04... so I followed this tutorial: thetechjournal.com/electronics/iphone-electronics/downgrade-ios-4-iphone-3gs-3g-and-ipod-touch-to-iphone-3-1-3-3-1-2steps.xhtml

and i did all that, BUT my model firmware is still 05.13.04 and not 05.12.01 as it came with factory defaults.
PS YES, i do have 3.1.3 05.12.01 bloobs shsh file saved on my pc!

Thats up to you, but if you did not know the modem baseband isnt supposed to change on a downgrade, i would suggest doing a lot of reading and learning before you try too much.

Just trying to save you some headaches down the road

It's not MODEL firmware it's MODEM firmware ( as theringer pointed out ). It does NOT get downgraded when moving down to older firmwares, it is an upgrade path only.

If you need to unlock your device, Ultrasn0w should still work.

I used that method on my phone and it does work. I found a few peculiarities along the way tho.

Just saying "it didnt work" isnt helpful. What part didnt work? What error did it give?
