Need to jailbreak Without Sim

My iphone no longer could read sim so I turned it into an iPod Touch, problem is I updated to ios4 (iphone 3g) and in order for me to use iPod features it's asking for a sim to be installed.

My question is: Can I jailbreak this without a sim installed. If so please lead me down the right path, thank you.

What iPhone model is it? If it's a 3G, then yes, redsn0w will hacktivate it, but you need A SIM card - ANY SIM card - installed at the time of jailbreak.

If it's a 3G, no.

If it's an iPhone 4, return that bastid and get one that works properly.

Sim slot doesn't work help!!

Had been switching simcard in out of my iPhone, thenput simtray in backwards and broke tray which caused damage to sim area, so know even though apple gave me a sim tray, it does not read sim any more. Forgot that I needed a sim to effectively upgrade phone and now its stuck in no sim mode once I tried to upgrade to ios4. Is there away out of this? THANKS!
