upgrading to ios4 with jailbreak

I have a jailbroken iphone 3.1.3. When ios4 is available and I decide to upgrade (that will be when you can jailbreak that), how do I go about doing it? I'm new to the jailbreak iphone noise and would like some advise. Thanks

You have to restore to the new OS, and rejailbreak. I suggest getting an app like AptBackup that will "backup" your jailbreak apps and help to reinstall them after you re-jailbreak the new os.
