unlock iphone 3G with 3.1.2, BUT NO WIFI

How can I finish to unlock my IPHONE, if I don't have a WIFI connection.
My Iphone is 3G, it wasn't upgraded, so I have the old 3.1.2 I downloaded black ra1n but I can't proceed downloading cydia, since no wifi. How can I proceed. Thanks

Are you using an unlock to get service? If so, follow this guide. If you don't rely on an unlock, upgrade to 3.1.3 and JB using Spirit - Spirit

Edit your hosts file to point to Saurik's Cydia server
Shift-Click restore to 3.1.2
Upon first reboot and 1015 error, use iRecovery to escape boot-loop recovery screen
Unlock with Blackra1n.

Add: 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Save file

Thank you for your reply. The reason why I want to unlock is that I want to use the SIM of another carrier on my iphone.
I don' t fully comprehend how I go about Editing my hosts file to point to Saurik's Cydia server ??
