    I can't say that I've had any problems with jb since I'm on OS 4.0 beta. But I would recommend you to make a clean restore. This means no use of any backup. So sync your contacts to outlook or similar before you restore.

    I JB my 3Gs (3.1.3) and then did a full restore without any issues. Then JB again to get an App I really needed lol. Still all good though.

    No, I was jailbroken on a 3G, saved everything via "AptBackup", then upgraded last year to a 3G[s]. I got home, synced everything through iTunes, restored from backup, blackra1n'ed, then used "AptBackup" again and all my stuff was back exactly how I left it from my other phone.

    Its possible yes. But not the best way to do it, if you want to avoid sofware issues...
