no cydia or rock after jailbreak

so I have an iphone 3gs on 3.1.3 I jailbroke via spirt , it reboots, shows some weird pic, then when i get back into my iphone I can't find rock or cydia anywhere ! am I supposed to download them? i thought they would come pre installed like in black ra1n,please help !

Yes, Cydia should be there. If you've scrolled through them all and don't see the brown Cydia app, run it again. Can't hurt.

cydia hasn't been loading at all over the last couple hours. I JB then installed a couple apps and now all I get is a 504 Gateway Time-Out error.

Same thing was happening last night. Their servers are being hammered.

I just did mine last night went pretty smoothly and cydia is loading for me. Might just be that you need to repeat the jb. I'm also on 3gs 3.1.3

I have Installed numerous times and everything looks ok but I can not find Cydia. Is there another way to install it ?

had the same problem , this is what I did to solve it, redownload spirt, right click go to properties check win 98 compatabilty mode AND at the bottom click run as adminstrator. Hope this helps
