cydia and jailbreak problem PLZ HELP

ok im having this problem with my ipod touch
the battery drains uber fast when cydia is installed. And when i uninstall it this happens (as i suspected syncing apps and stuff wont work because appsync is not installed so i need help of either of the following:
having ONLY appsync installed
uninstalling cydia but STILL having appsync on it
something like a custom FW that has the firmware AND Appsync on it as well


i have ipod touch 32gb 1st gen
FW: 3.1.2 (will downgrade if i have to but has to be able to run apps that require 2.2.1 FW)
