Updating Firmware (3G make sure the firmware is also at 3.1.2 then skip to the jailbreak)
If you have a IPod touch 2G or 1G Go on to iPod and iPhone Firmware Download to upgrade the firmware to 3.1.2 (Important Make sure its 3.1.2 and no higher or the jailbreak won?t work)
Click the dropdown and go onto iPod touch 2G (for 3G click on IPod touch 3G 3.1.2) (3.1.2) and click download, once downloaded put the firmware on to your desktop
Go on to ITunes whist IPod is connected and press the shift key and Update and browse for the file on your desktop. Now it should be updated (don?t worry if the IPod turns off just let it do what it needs to do)
3G skip to this part:
Jailbreak:
Go on blackweather
Click on the windows logo and download (or Mac for Mac)
After the file has downloaded click on the Raindrop icon then click on make it Ra1n, Your IPod WILL show the picture of GeoHot (the picture on the Blackra1n website)
Once the IPod has rebooted its self (and no longer shows GeoHot anymore) go to you IPod find the Blackra1n logo and press it, once there press Cydia and press install.
Now open Cydia, press manage, Source, press Edit, Add, and type in HTTP://cydia.hackulos.us than press Add source, If anything pos up click ok and press done. After press Hackulo.us and install installous. Once installed browse for any apps that you want.
PLEASE NOTE THAT 3G IPOD TOUCH WILL BE A TETHERED JAILBREAK MEANING THAT IF YOU TURN YOUR IPOD/IPHONE OFF YOU WILL HAVE TO REJAILBREAK YOUR IPOD/IPHONE
the 2G and 1G will be untethered
To this date 12/03/2010 (British) there is know untethered jailbreak for the 3G.
