okay i just purchased an iphone 8gig 3G (used) and i tried to jailbreak and unlock to t-mobile but when i checked the firmware i realized it was 3.1.3 which stops me from jailbreaking or unlocking my iphone...ive came across lots sites and forums that say how to downgrade the baseband and firmware back down to 3.1.2. but they tell me to go through CYDIA and download some apps for it to work..this is very frustrating because there is no way to get into the iphone or even to CYDIA..obviously everyone reading this can see how im stuck at this point with a non-functional iphone. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

    The baseband cannot be downgraded.

Which means that until a new 3.1.3 jailbreak/unlock is released, you're stuck with an iPod Touch, my frend.
