Tether without jailbreak

Is it possible to tether a 3GS (version 3.1.3, MC137LL model) Iphone without jailbreaking? If so, then how (directions, links will be appreciated)?

There use to be a way with 3.0 but with 3.1 it no longer exists. The developer has not been able to get 3.1 going yet.

Take your 3GS to another country (non- AT&T provider) where tethering is allowed.

Personally, I suggest jailbreaking it. MyWi is a great app that not only allows tethering, it also creates an access point for you and your friends. A great deal for $9.99
