I have a new 3GS (purchased this week). While attached to iTunes I upgraded to 3.1.3. I have recently read that 3.1.3 versions cannot be jailbreaked. I have only a few free iphone applications and a couple of numbers on my phone. Is it worthwhile to restore it to 3.1.2 with the restore function?

Also, as mentioned the phone is a 3GS and I am using Windows XP, are there jailbreak tools for that?

    Thanks

You can't downgrade a 3.1.3. Actually, you might, but the jailbreak still won't work, because of the baseband. I think that's what it's called.

And apple isn't signing off on anything other than 3.1.3, as of like, 4 days ago.

So restoring to factory setting won't work? or is it not advisable?

I wouldn't do it, because it'll probably force you to update to 3.1.3.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm stuck with 3.1.3. There are worse things in life.
