Hello,
I have a jailbroken Iphone 2g with 3.1.2 firmware. There is a problem with the touchscreen; there are 2 dead strips that are unresponsive to touch (at the very top and bottom of the screen). This makes the phone pretty much unusable. I've tried all the software fixes I can think of, including increasing the sensitivity and restoring. Unfortunately, I do not have one of the serial numbers that qualify for free replacement.
So here is my question: Is it possible to somehow hack the phone and make the usable screen smaller? That way I can just avoid the dead spots on the touchscreen.
Thanks for any help.
