Idiots guide needed!

I have an iPhone 3g with OS 3.0.1, and is unlocked with redsn0w.

i'd like to upgrade to 3.1.x and register my iphone but keep it unlocked (or lockit, update then relock). And id like to keep all of my Cydia and Appstore apps, images, contacts, voice recordings (v.important i dont lose these), music, notes etc.

Is this possible? I've looked around on the net but just got baffled! My friend said to use blackra1n: im not sure what it does.

You can sync it all. For Voice Memos, music and apps is iTunes the perfect tool
Contacts and notes can be synced with Outlook or Windows Address Book. Images can be synced manually with Windows. The iPhone pops up as a digital camera and you can then transfer the pictures onto your computer.
You can make a backup of your Cydia-apps with Aptbkp(dont remember the correct name). But I would not recommend it as it could cause you software problems.

I would recommend that you restore(and automaticly updates) and set up the iPhone as new. But first, make sure that everything is synced.
