Safe to downgrade 3GS 3.1.2 to 3.0

Hi, I'm having issues with my iphone 3gs 3.1.2 and JB, I was wondering if it's safe to downgrade to 3.0,

WiFi issues, I cant connect to my home network, I've tried to "restore settings" but is not working
also SBSettings doesnt work......

Tried a restore WITHOUT using backup? Is your iPhone hacktivated?

Yes, hacktivation screws a lot of things up.

Here's a trick, directly from Geohot - if you still have your AT&T SIM card - EVEN IF ITS NOT ACTIVE - you can insert that when you restore to activate your iPhone. But it will only work on the 3G, so yore lucky. After you activate, insert your carriers SIM card and reboot your iPhone.

But when you restore, as another poster said, restore your iPhone and set it up as new. Don't Restore from backup.

I'm still on 3.1.2 and SBSettings is working now... my real concern is the WiFi not working, it assigns an invalid ip (169.256.xx.xx) looks like it cannot auto assign a valid IP from DHCP... I tried with static but is not working either.... any advice?

what is exactly "hacktivation" thanks

Have you tried using wifi another place? Like a hotspot or at a friend?
Did you try restoring the iPhone without using the backup?
