Okay this may be a little " OFF TOPIC "

Ok Recently my freind got an itouch 8GB with 2.2.1 (5H11a) version. Ive downloaded a QuickPwn to jailbreak it. and the
iPod2,1_2.1.1_5F138_Restore.ipsw. And then when i open QuickPwn it tells me to connect my itouch to the computer and then after it asks me to browse the ipsw. after that it says " Firmware error strings ". Does anyone know what to do? this may ivolve into iphone problems too.

Could anyone post me a better link to jb my itouch? or help me solve the problem here.

That would solve his whole problem. Just simply install the iPod touch 2nd generation 3.1.2 firmware....

There you go. As stated, simply download the iPhone touch 2nd generation 3.1.2 firmware and install it via iturs. Use the Option/Shift+Left Click on the "restore" button in iTunes, and direct it to whatever ipsw file you just downloaded.

Sounds like you don't have good firmware downloaded. That link should get you taken care of
