i just bought an unlocked/jail broken 3gs. It is in recovery mode and wants me to restore. If i restore will it remain unlocked? I have heard that the jailbreak my go away and thats fine. Please help. I have t-mobile and i have not yet inserted my sim card. I do not want my phone to be permanently locked.

Lets try something first, don't restore it yet.

Go to blackweather and download blackra1n for whatever OS you have. Then run it with your phone connected to the computer. Does it come out of recovery?

thats exactly what you need to try first, when your phoen is turned on and says connect to itunes.

1 Make sure itunes is closed

2 PLug phone up

3 run blackra1n

4 goto tipb and tell us what happened

if you do restore it there is a program in the blackrain app you get when you jailbreak it to unlock your iphone although it dosn't seem to work for everyone.
