jailbreaking isnt working for my 3g with 3.1.2

Everything is up to date,my itunes is off even took it off the processes. I have 3g with 3.1.2 I used blackra1n downloaded it,it would start and like freeze,then I would manually hold the power and home button to shut the phone off,then on my computer it would say congratulations your phone is jailbroken,yet the phone didnt change,as well it wouldnt restart the phone by itself,I had to manually restart the phone and nothing changed. Please help me,thank you.

There are a couple threads with step to take to JB using blackrain search for them. There's some good steps you might be missing one of them.

I also having this problem before, but I'd managed to fix it. What I've done was reinstalling Apple Mobile Device Support on Windows Vista. Here you can find the full instructions.

When running Blackra1n after the screen goes black on your iphone simply unplug it and plug it back in and blackra1n will take care of the rest...I did this on 5 different phones and it worked everytime.
