Can anyone comment on the benefits of using ICY? A search did not reveal a previous discussion thread....perhaps because the forum search function refuses to search on less than 4 letters.

The only thing I like about Cydia better than Icy, is that with Icy, I can't seem to just browse a specific repo.

Aside from that, I see no real reason why Cydia is even included in the jailbreak process anymore. The thing takes an eternity to do anything.

When I originally jailbroke my iPhone it installed Cydia and Installer. After jailbreaking again for 3.0 I now have only Cydia. How does one get ICY and is it even something I need?

Icy is another JB installer that supports Cydia based repositories. It seems to be much faster at just about everything, and has a much less cluttered interface. You can install it using Cydia.
