Anyone knows how to unlock iphone 3G v 2.2.1 (5H11) modem firmware 02.30.03?

Also, upgrade to 3.0???

If I'm not mistaken, you can use yellowsnow from Cydia to unlock 2.2.1 once you've already jailbroken your iPhone.

If you upgrade to OS 3.0 (even beta), you will end up flashing your baseband, and be unable to unlock the device again until the iPhone Dev Team releases a new method.

OS 3.0 is currently beta so you would need to find a developer willing to include you as a tester. From there, it is a simple matter of copying the OS to your PC/Mac, and restoring via a custom firmware.

It's not that easy. There is a specific baseband version associated with OS 2.2.1. If your device had been upgraded to 3.0, then downgraded back to 2.2.1, the baseband would not have changed. The 3.0 baseband has not been unlocked yet. I would refer all your unlocking questions to modmyi.com.

If you want to unlock the device, you will have to stay at 2.2.1 until the iPhone Dev Team develops an unlock for 3.0. OS 3.0 has been jailbroken but not unlocked.
