New to Iphone

I was wondering if I bought a 8gb 3g iphone, would i be able to unlock it and jailbreak it and not have to get the expensive plan, would i be able to still get all of the features of the phone without unlimited texts and data from jailbreaking it?

Short version..No. The iPhone does not come with Unlimited data only Unlimited data. I am not sure about this but I believe the iPhone basic plan is around $60 - $70 per month. for 450 min. and unlimited data. That is similar to other "smartphone" plans on other networks.

What about texting isn't that unlimited?
