Unlock iPhone version 2.2.1 Modem Firmware 02.30.03

Hi,

I am new to the iPhone world.

I have an AT&T iPhone version 2.2.1 with Modem Firmware 02.30.03. I have now moved to Asia and I need to unlock my phone.

Can I unlock an iPhone version 2.2.1? Can you please point me to the instructions?

I purchased an unlockSim from UnlockediPhone.info, but that is useless and does not work.

The only way is to use a hardware sim unlock. There is no current software unlock for 2.2.1 or that baseband. You may be out of luck.

Did the 3GSim from unlockediphone.info work poorly (i.e. dropped calls, weak signal, etc.) or does it not work at all ??

I was planning on purchasing one from there too, but I wasnt sure how genuine it was, so I've been holding back.

I am total newbie with iphones and did take a sim unlock on a recommendation from a more experienced friend. I can say it works nice for me. Its not perfect but works good enough (I have to reset my iphone from time to time). Maybe this depends on your carrier?
