Hi,

I already jailbreaked my iphone 3G to 2.1 and want to upgrade this to 2.2.1 jailbreakd version

What is the best way to do this? Do is need to upgrade first to 2.2 via Itunes??

I do not have a Mac so i need to have Windows to do the upgrade.

Please advice.

The biggest question you need to answer is do you want to have the possibility to unlock the phone for other carriers? If the answer is yes, then you need to upgrade using a custom firmware that has baseband 2.28.

In order to do this:

1. You will need to search for a custom firmware (I found it on the torrents)
2. Plug in your iPhone and let iTunes connect.
3. While holding the shift key, click restore.
4. Navigate to the custom firmware.
5. Click OK and let the firmware install.

Thanks to the replies.

Regarding Jamesus:

Could you post me the filename so i can search this? or PM.

2. Plug in your iPhone and let iTunes connect.
3. While holding the shift key, click restore.
How to hold the shiftkey on iPhone? (im a newbie...sorry)

4. Navigate to the custom firmware.
5. Click OK and let the firmware install.

And can this all be done using Windows?

Thanks:)

File name of the firmware I used is iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Custom_Restore.

Shift key on computer keyboard, not iPhone.

Windows is the OS I use, so yes it can be done! :D
