Hi guys,

Thinking it was a stroke of genius, I bought a brand-new iPhone 3G from eBay for AUD500, but it is locked to Optus in Australia. I spent last night after it arrived trawling through tutorial after tutorial and have managed to jailbreak it using Pwnage Tool (I am using a Macbook running OS X 10.4.11). However, since this morning I've been using Cydia to try and run yellowsn0w 0.9.7, but it isn't unlocking. The firmware is now 2.2, but the baseband is 02.11.07, and I don't know if this is the reason it's not working for me, but I can't get the baseband to update to 02.28.00 or yellowsn0w to work. I've tried toggling the network (especially Airplane Mode) & 3G settings, rebooting, both SIM cards, and nothing is working. Any ideas?

Search for a custom firmware that has the 2.28 baseband. I think the iPhone Dev team has a link to it on their blog.
